My First Mother's Day...

Wow...what a great day I had with some of my favorite people! My day started at 5:30 am when Ella was still sleeping from 8:30pm the night before. (what a nice gift!) Then we got ready and boarded a bus headed to Philly for the Race for the Cure (Breast Cancer 5K). We enjoyed our walk in the sun with Daddy, Grandmommy, Nonna, and Aunt Melanie! (Ivan missed for the second year in a row...BOOOOOO!) After our walk - we loved our treats from WAWA and the long bus ride home. My night ended with a yummy cheese steak and onion rings (just what I wanted!) Could Ella really be sleeping through the night now for good? Or was it just a special gift from her to me?
Either way - I love my new role of being her mommy. Never knew just how much I would enjoy having a daughter until it actually happened. What a great day to celebrate her life - Mother's Day 2009!

New Friend...

We had our favorite overnight guests this weekend for the first time since Ella is a 815 Birch Lane resident...Tam and Slone! It was love at first sight for Slone and Ella! Slone took very good care of Ella - at one point he had 6 blankets, 1 burp cloth and a play mat covering her! When leaving he told her that he loved her and asked Tam if he could come see "baby" tomorrow! We shared a lot of good times and it was hard to see them pack up and go...

The Volpe Family passed along this Bumbo seat to Ella. (Thank you so much!) This seat is awesome for trying to get a "swat" out of her! We think she is still undecided whether she likes it yet or not! What do you think?

SMILES and LAUGHS

Ella is becoming so alert during the days and sleeping well at night!

We are getting used to seeing Ella's beautiful eyes and even some smiles! Mommy and Daddy are even getting some sleep these days. Usually Ella sleeps for a 4 hour stretch - wakes up and eats - then sleeps another 5 hours. We are 6 and a half weeks old now...I can hardly believe it!

Hoppy Easter!

We went to visit the Easter Bunny at the Christiana Mall on Thursday! Once I got past all of my germophobic issues - we decided to put Ella on a blanket and then hand the whole blanket to the dirty Easter Bunny! :)
In this picture you can't really see Ella OR her beautiful Easter dress - but you can see the dirty Easter Bunny and the proud parents!
