Ultra Sound, etc!!!!

WOW...so fun seeing little BP move around and wave to us! We had an ultra sound at my 11 week appointment. I think seasoned moms forget to tell expecting moms the uncomfortable part though - you have to have that full bladder before the ultrasound and then a tech pushing and moving the probe around your stomach is the added fun! It sure is worth it though to see that picture! Relief comes afterward when you get to head directly to the bathroom!!! After 5 minutes of straight urination - I was ready to rejoin Dave and the doctor - only to have them take a urine sample! Somehow - there was still enough to fill the cup. :) We just got back from a week and a half at Aunt Pat's house in Illinois. Toby surprised us and met us there too! It was great relaxing by the pool, on a couch (BP makes me very sleepy!), watching Michael Phelps break records, playing Phase 10 the card game (I am still undefeated!!!), or just laughing with our family. We are back at home now and I have started my "back to school review" camp at school. Dave is back to work and is pretty busy! Fall is right around the corner.

I am SO excited to see the ultrasound of BP. Jess...I don't know if we, already moms, choose NOT tell the expectant moms about the uncomfortable parts of pregnancy, such as the full bladder-ed ultrasounds! I think we just forget about it! But one of the last ultrasounds I had with Katie, they asked me to drink '10 gallons' or whatever amount it was, before coming in. I timed it and had just gotten all my water in before heading in for my appointment. I was so proud of my timing, thinking I'd could curb the length of uncomfortable-ness. Needless to say, I got in the examine room, they began the ultrasound and unexpectedly, the technician was called out of the room for an emergency phone call. 20 minutes later, I continued to lay on the table, with that glop on my exposed belly, feeling VERY uncomfortable. I survived it...to have a precious addition to my family. Ahhhhh...those memories!!!

Great news, Jessica! Reading that post brought back feelings of missing pregnancy for me! I had a zillion ultrasounds, and never had to have a full bladder, thank goodness. Glad to see everything is going well! I will say a prayer that this continues and your pregnancy is a breeze. Congratulations again! Love, Noreen
